NDPERS Tobacco Cessation Program
Quit tobacco today, with our help
Whatever your reason for quitting, you can get $700 to have your out-of-pocket quitting costs covered.
NDPERS received a grant to help covered employees quit smoking or chewing tobacco. The grant pays for approved tobacco cessation counseling, medications, health care provider visits and co-pays. This program is administered by Sanford Health Plan.
What is paid for?
Every six months, the program pays up to $700 in tobacco cessation expenses, including:
- Up to $200 for office visits and co-pays
- Up to $500 for FDA-approved cessation medications
Am I eligible?
The Tobacco Cessation Program is available to current employees with NDPERS health coverage, of:
- State of North Dakota
- North Dakota University system
- District health units
- Garrison Diversion Conservation District
Covered dependents age 18 and over are also eligible.*
How do I enroll?
Enrollment is open year-round. Fill out the form to the right or call us at (877) 737-7730 to sign up. The $700 benefit lasts for six months. You must re-enroll in each January and July to receive more funds to help you quit tobacco. We will remind you when it's time to re-enroll. There is no limit to the number of times you can enroll.
*City, county and other members of the NDPERS group are not eligible for this program, but help is available through ND Quits. Call (800) QUIT-NOW or visit ndhealth.gov/ndquits for more information.
