HealthEquity Passkey Updates

Passkeys will soon be required to access HealthEquity accounts across mobile, web, and call center experiences. To support our clients and members, we've launched a full set of resources designed to make the shift to passkeys simple and seamless. 

What’s available now 

  • Client Resource Hub – Your central location for timelines, passkey knowledge and enablement materials 
  • Member Resource Hub – A public-facing page with a 1-minute video, FAQs, and clear setup instructions for members.
  • Member Help Center articles– Step-by-step guidance for common passkey questions 

Your role 
You play a critical role in helping clients and their employees prepare for the shift to passkey login. We’re here to make it seamless. Encourage your clients to help their employees take the following steps:  

  • Download the mobile app for their benefit plan 
  • Update their mobile phone number and email in the member portal—without this information, they won’t be able to set up a passkey and will be locked out of their account 
  • Engage with upcoming educational emails
  • Be ready to activate passkey login when prompted in your upcoming wave in August or September 

Client wave timing 
Client’s will receive an email one week before their employee wave begins, confirming the exact date passkeys will be enabled for their employees.

  • Explore the Client Resource Hub to review materials
  • View the passkey video to see how easy passkey set up is
  • Encourage your client to share the Member Resource Hub with their teams

What’s next: 
Clients will receive a confirmation email one week before their wave begins. At the same time, their employees will begin receiving a targeted email series to guide them through setup: 

  1. Introduction to passkeys – During the week of 7/21, members will be informed that Passkeys are required 
  2. Member Resource Hub and Member Help Center articles– directing them to support resources. 
  3. Two setup reminders – Two Passkey setup reminder emails: one on the go-live day and another within the week following go live day
