HealthEquity Visa Card Update
Posted: 8/2/2024
We recently transitioned to a new partner, Fiserv, for card processing and production. Beginning August 12 all cards will be managed through this partnership.
This transition brings an elevated payment experience to members. Here's what members can expect:
- Chip- and tap-enabled card, making payments more secure and convenient than ever
- Multiple benefits stacked on one card, drawing from the right account in the right order
- Convenient payments from a digital wallet, available for all cards in late 2024
HealthEquity reached out directly to clients in mid-July with an update on the rollout. Here’s what happens next:
- Gray period: From August 6-12, we’ll make the final transition to Fiserv. During this period, new card activation will be limited to IVR or phone, and new cards ordered during this period will be mailed after August 15. Members will see a banner with this information when they log into their HealthEquity account during this time.
- New cards issued: Members with more than one card-eligible account will receive new chip- and tap-enabled cards in waves between August 27-November 5. All their applicable HealthEquity accounts will be accessible from this single card.
- Accounts stacked on existing chip- and tap-enabled cards: Members who already have the new HealthEquity® Visa® card in hand will see their other card-eligible accounts added to this card in waves between August 27-November 5.
- Dependent card experience: Dependents of members who are either being issued a new card or seeing multiple benefits stacked on an existing card will also be sent a new card. If they have multiple card-eligible accounts, these accounts will be accessible on a single card.
- New cards activated: Member and dependents should activate their new card as soon as they receive it in the mail. They can simply call the number listed on the card or activate it from the "Manage Cards" page in their HealthEquity account.
- Old cards deactivated: Existing cards will be deactivated 30 days after new cards are mailed. Old cards should be discarded after new cards have been activated.
