CMS Announces Regulatory Changes for Marketing & Communications
Update in Preparation for Annual Enrollment 2024
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently published its 2024 Final Rule for Medicare Advantage and Part D. The rule includes new regulatory requirements for marketing and communications, which will affect all agencies and brokers selling Medicare Advantage and/or Part D plans.
We have prepared a summary document (CMS Announces Marketing and Communication Changes) to highlight some of the key changes you need to know. Please carefully review the information to ensure you are aware of the impacts to your marketing and selling strategies and can prepare for any changes needed to be in full compliance for Medicare Annual Enrollment (AEP) 2024.
- The summary document is available for review here. Please note it is not an exhaustive list; the full text of the final rule is available here.
IMPORTANT: Do not delay reviewing the summary document and the final rule as these changes are applicable to all 2024-related marketing and communications, effective Sept. 30, 2023. These documents and others have been incorporated into the agent portal for reference. Please note that the review period changes for radio scripts, enrollment scripts and telephonic sales scripts are effective July 24, 2023.
We are committed to helping you navigate these changes and will share additional information as it becomes available; in the meantime, please reach out to your account executive with questions or concerns.
Thank you for your partnership.
Sincerely,
Sanford Health Plan
