Sanford Health Plan (SHP) recognizes the importance of an annual diabetic eye exam for members with diabetes. To ensure members with diabetes are able to obtain the necessary screening, effective July 1, 2024, Sanford Health Plan Policy “Vision Services Benefit Reimbursement” is updated to reflect coverage for an annual diabetic eye exam to be covered with no cost share to the member when supported by an appropriate diabetes related diagnosis code.
