Exercise is Medicine

Exercise is Medicine (EIM) empowers you to make exercise a habit and gives you the tools you need to decrease your health risks.

EIM is a 12-week program available to qualifying NDPERS Sanford Health Plan members and their qualifying spouses and dependents. It’s offered both virtually and at local participating gyms.

A one-time fee unlocks:

  • Group fitness classes
  • Access to a personal trainer
  • Support from a wellness coach and dietitian

To qualify, you must: 

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Have one or more of the following conditions:
    • Anxiety
    • BMI of 30 or greater
    • Cancer
    • Depression
    • High blood pressure
    • Hyperlipidemia
    • Metabolic syndrome
    • Prediabetes
    • Type 2 diabetes

 

EIM Price Guide*

  • In-person EIM program at participating gyms, $99
  • Virtual EIM program over WebEx, which includes a fitness box: $99

*Members may use their health savings account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA) dollars to cover their program fee. A supporting letter from your health plan is required for IRS tax reporting purposes.

Virtual Exercise is Medicine

Virtual EIM offers eight weekly live virtual classes. Participants must attend a minimum of three live virtual classes every week. You will receive a Webex link for the live classes after registering. All participants will also receive check-in wellness coaching.

The virtual program will deliver a fitness box to your home, which includes:

  • An EIM workbook
  • A Pilates ball
  • A mini loop resistance band
  • A foam balance pad
  • A handled resistance band
